The last couple posts have been about washing your Human Hair Extensions, so I thought I might do this tip on what to do with all that hair after you wash it. When you get out of the shower with a nice thick head of hair, the first thing you want to do is throw it all up in a towel so it will stay out of the way while drying yourself off and doing make-up, etcetera (Don’t you love the picture BTW). With Human Hair Extensions there are some things to be careful of. Here are my tips:
- First off, please don’t keep your Human Hair Extensions tied up in a towel for too long. The weight of the water and the towel could be tugging at the bonds in your Human Hair Extensions and consequently your natural hair. As I have pointed out in other tips, tugging can cause breakage and fracturing which can cause tangling or lead to hair loss.
- Don’t wrap your Human Hair Extensions too tightly or twist them too much. Again, wet Human Hair Extensions need to be treated with extra care because they are very vulnerable when wet. So, try to be careful and gentle with your wet Human Hair Extensions . Putting your Human Hair Extensions up in a towel is OK, but not really recommended.
- My preferred alternative solutions are to use a silk wrap, cotton wrap, or satin wrap. I personally like to grab an old cotton t-shirt, cut it down one of the sides and wrap my Human Hair Extensions up in that. By using these alternative fabrics, you avoid over drying, over absorption of the natural oils that your Human Hair Extensions need to prevent static, over tangling and dryness. Also, terry cloth is very “grippy” and can tear at your Human Hair Extensions while they are up in the towel.
